Yeah, I've heard of a lot of ppl threatening to switch but sure enough as soon as LJ starts working again they don't. Also, I realized that most of the non-LJ authors I had bookmarked were on AO3. I love the journalism diversity but come on! I just wanna read fic...

From an author's POV, it's nice to have lots of backups archived. But, in terms of general use, I think the established-ness of ElJay gives it an advantage when all else is equal.
